I reserve this for evenings out and special occasions and it has not let me down once. The golden amber dry-down is what makes it exceptional — warm, intimate, and genuinely luxurious smelling. Ships quickly to Toronto, free over CA$65. The bottle is beautiful enough to display. Worth every dollar.
The saffron note is distinctive and bold — this is not a safe or generic fragrance. If you want something that smells like everything else at the department store counter this is not for you. If you want something that makes people stop and ask what you are wearing this is exactly right. The longevity is excellent.
Bought this for myself and my boyfriend has now claimed it as his. We have been sharing it which I suppose is the point of a unisex fragrance. It works completely differently on our skin — warmer on him, more floral and light on me. Both versions are beautiful. We ordered a second bottle.
The saffron note in this is unlike anything I have smelled in this price range. It is warm and slightly spiced without being heavy. The dry-down is clean amber and musk that lasts for hours. I got five compliments the first day I wore it. My colleague asked if I was wearing something new — she said I smelled incredible.
I was looking for a unisex fragrance that would work on my skin without reading as either masculine or feminine. Crystal No. 1 is exactly that. The saffron and floral opening is warm and distinctive.
